Senior Lecturer (Games Programming)
£33,884 - £39,257 per annum
37 hours per week
Computer games development is a growing area within the Technology School. Applications are invited for the position of Senior Lecturer specialising in Games Programming to contribute to curriculum development and extend links with the games industry. Applicants for this post should be well proven developers in either C++ or Java, with direct experience of games development in the mainstream or independent sectors. Ideally this would include elements such as mobile and casual game development, game play or game engine development, and the use of game engines. Additionally skills in the coding of 2D and 3D graphics, physics, A.I., and exposure to 3ds Max would be an advantage.
Experience of teaching or training would be an advantage, as would postgraduate academic or educational qualifications. However, the confidence to communicate complex technical knowledge and ideas to students, together with the desire to inspire and motivate, is essential.
